8X8
My Blogging Buddy "E Dub" sent me a cute little
"Picture Pass Along" tag...
Here are the rules for 8X8:
1. Go to your photos files and select the 8th photo folder.
2. Select the 8th photo in that folder.
3. Post that photo along with the story behind it.
4. Then challenge 8 blogging friends to do the same.
This picture was taken of GP & I
at a Brad Paisley Concert in So Cal
a few years back
over 4th of July weekend.

Favorite Flip Flops
Have you ever heard of
If you live in Southern California
you probably have!
The pair of flip flops on the top are my latest purchase...
One of my favorites!
They're made of hemp,
my feet don't slip & slide
and they last for more than one Summer.
Well...
I'd LOVE to have them (amongst other colors), but...
I just can't justify spending
$80
on a pair of flip flops!
I can get them at the outlet center for
$60
But I still think that's a bit too much...
They are in fact, still, just a pair of flip flops...
What do you think???
Would you spend $80/$60 on them???

Spanish Tortilla
This looks like a Yummy recipe!
It's a Spanish Tortilla...
I've never heard of it...
I thought it was a quiche
"Don't confuse this with the flour or corn tortillas you use to make wraps. A Spanish tortilla is a potato-and-egg omelet found on numerous menus throughout Spain. Traditionally these are cooked in heaps of olive oil. Our version uses less oil, so it's lower in calories, and if you use precooked diced potatoes, it's faster too."
Looks like a great idea for brunch!

Have you tried these before???
They're fantastic!
I first discovered them on a wine tasting trip...
We stopped at the store to grab a few things for a picnic lunch...
Now, they're a must have for every wine trip!
They're great paired with cheese & dry salami.

Love or Hate???
To me the sight of this herb is...
Heaven!!!
To many others it is disgust! : (
If you are one of those, like me, who enjoys cilantro...
GP's parents are from Rome, Italy.
Needless to say his mom is a wonderful cook!
So, when I made this "spin-off" recipe to
traditional basil pesto...
I was a bit worried.
They liked it!
I don't care for nuts...
So, I left out the pine nuts &
the recipe worked just fine.
I like to top it with cubed,
grilled chicken,
fresh diced tomatoes & fresh parmesan

GP likes to play around with ingredients...
Some other options are:
Basil & Cilantro Pesto
Basil & Sundried Tomato Pesto
Cilantro & Sundried Tomato Pesto
Basil, Cilantro, Sundried Tomato Pesto
Try It!

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution...
"This food revolution is about saving America's health by changing the way you eat.
It's not just a TV show, it's a movement for you, your family and your community.
If you care about your kids and their future take this revolution and make it your own.
Educate yourself about food and cooking. Find out what your child is eating at school.
Make only a few small changes and magical things will happen.
Switching from processed to fresh food will not only make you feel better
but it will add years to your life."
